It's still winter. ❄️

Hey there, lovely souls,

I'm going to give you a sneak peek into my therapy session this week. We talked about winter. Not the Instagrammable, snow-dusted, twinkly-light version (though I love that too), but the slower, quieter side of this season. You know, the one where the days are short, our (my) motivation feels even shorter, and it’s easy to guilt ourselves for not being productive enough. (This was part of my therapy homework. To reflect on why I need to always feel productive and where that comes from.)

If you’ve been feeling that tug of “I should be doing more,” Me too, and my therapist said: stop. Winter isn’t about hustle—it’s about rest. she reminded me that nature backs her up on this one. She's right. Look at the trees. They’ve dropped their leaves, standing bare but steadfast. The fields? Quiet, waiting under a blanket of frost. And those tiny seeds? Tucked into the soil, taking their sweet time until spring calls them to bloom. There’s no rush, no guilt—just rest, renewal, and trust in the process. (You know she had me when she brought in nature...)

She asked me, "why should we be any different?"

Winter invites us to slow down. To pause. To recharge. It’s not laziness; it’s necessary. Think of it as the season your soul takes a big exhale. What feels like stillness now is actually preparing you for the seasons ahead—the ones where you’ll plant, grow, and thrive.

So, let’s lean into this natural rhythm together. Be kind to yourself. You’re not falling behind—you’re storing energy for the beautiful things to come.

Spring will be here soon enough. And when it arrives, just like the seeds, you’ll be ready to bloom.

Much love,

I love this perspective on winter! It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle, but I appreciate the reminder to embrace rest and recharge. Last week I found myself feeling guilty for not being more productive but then I started to lean into allowing myself to rest, and it’s just what I needed.
